Complications are uncommon but do occur, and include pain or discomfort around the injection site, numbness of the skin in the same area, increased pain from muscle spasm in the injection area, permanent nerve pain, allergies or reactions to the medication and infection.
I had radio denervation some 17 months ago and i have had a svere neuropathic flair up following surgery. this has caused me extreme pain and has not changed in the last 5 to 6 months so i suspect the pain level i have at this point(7/10) i will be stuck with for the rest of my life. Now i had 8 points of denervation 4 either side of my thoracic spine, now im not a DR. but i would have thought that was excessive when the pain could be located down to 2 joints both having bulging discs on mri scans and was wondering if someone might want to use me as a case study and advise me on wether the DR. was gungho or not in doing so many injections, now i ask this because my DR. here in Melbuorne Australia ( PAUL VERRILLS METRO SPINAL CLINIC ) doesnt seem interested in me now and i realy need some help and advise. Now the pain i have gone through has been debillitating and has ruined my life, so i would advise anybody considering radio denervation to put up with the pain they have now until such time as an operation to replace discs or fuse joints, titanium inserts or whatever is required rather than have R.F.D.
